President Tsai Ing-wen visited Hsinchu City Xiangshan Caishen Temple (XSCST) with Legislator Ker Chien-ming, Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien, and National Policy Advisor Huang Mingde on the second day of the Chinese New Year (Feb. 17). She prayed for the public and gave out the "Xing Fu Gong Hao (happy altogether)" dollar red envelopes to the public; she wished Hsinchu City citizens a successful and happy 2018.

Mayor Lin appreciated President Tsai for supporting Hsinchu City urban development. He stated that under the cooperation of the central government and Hsinchu local government, 2018 will be the year for Hsinchu City to evolve.

Mayor Lin pointed out that the installation arts had been set up at East Gate, City Moat River, and City Hall Plaza. He encouraged the public to visit each spot and enjoy the beauty of the city. Mayor Lin also wished everyone a happy 2018.

A lot of people lined up for President Tsai's red envelopes. The temple was immersed in a festival atmosphere. Mr. Zeng from Xiangshan District came to the temple before 12:00 pm, and he was the first person who received the red envelope from President Tsai.

The design of "Xing Fu Gong Hao" dollar red envelopes used traditional papercutting art with red and gold colors. The red envelope could transform into a table lamp by folding it into a triangular prism. The dollar red envelopes received great feedbacks from the public.
