Hsinchu City Government collaborates with National Palace Museum to launch "Giuseppe Castiglione: Visited in Art" NPM Touring Educational Exhibition. The touring exhibition will be taking place at 241 Art Gallery on November 4; the public can experience sensory arts through watching, hearing, smelling, and touching. Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien states that the exhibition brings the story and paintings of the legendary painter Lang Shining (Giuseppe Castiglione) from the Qing Dynasty to Hsinchu City; and the public can also experience aesthetic education through drama, co-authoring, and VR calligraphy. The touring exhibition only has 2 sessions, which will take places in Hsinchu City and Pingtung County; the public who is interested should not miss this opportunity.

Lang Shining was a missionary from Italy. He was favored by three emperors - Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong due to his lively and realistic style of painting. He had been working as a "court painter" for 51 years and he is famous for his animal portraits; the exhibition also uses "Lang Shining and His Animal Partners" as the theme.

The director of National Palace Museum Lin Jeng-yi states Hsinchu 241 Art Gallery surprised him that the place is able to combine art and life together, it is a very folk-friendly domain of art and culture. He anticipates future cooperation opportunities, so that the public in Hsinchu City can meet more NPM relics in this special place.

"Lang Shining – Children's Play Touring Educational Exhibition" will take place at Hsinchu 241 Art Gallery from November 2 to November 30. The exhibition is targeting 4 to 10 year-old children with parent-child interaction; it also displays relic duplications, films, digital interactive devices, and physical teaching aids.

Apart from Lang Shining's biography, painting style and his influence, NPM also picks around 30 featured animal painting prints to display in the exhibition.
