Chinese New Year is coming! Hsinchu City Government will hold a featured creative cultural market "New Year Market – Enjoy Chinese New Year with Superb Dishes" in Zhongzheng Market on Feb. 3. The event invites well-known chefs from Dian Shui Lou, The Carlton, and other successful restaurants to teach how to make skill-demanded dishes such as crab rice cake, radish cake, etc. Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated that featured New Year Market will start from this weekend. He sincerely invited the public to visit the New Year market and advance their home cook recipes.
Mayor Lin stated that Chinese New Year is the time for family to have a reunion. In order to attract people of different ages to the traditional Zhongzheng Market that located in downtown area, Hsinchu City Government will host "New Year Market – Enjoy Chinese New Year with Superb Dishes" which especially invites New Year featured creative stands during Feb. 3 to Feb. 13 to expand the public's option for New Year shopping.
Mayor Lin pointed out that the New Year Market event invites skillful chefs to teach the public the skill-demanded dishes every weekend. Moreover, the event also opens floral classes to teach the public how to decorate their houses with flowers and be prepared for the Chinese New Year!
The director of Hsinchu City Government Department of Economic Development Wu Jiatian pointed out that "New Year Market - Enjoy Chinese New Year with Superb Dishes" will debut from Feb. 3 (Sat.) to Feb. 13 (Tues.). Unlike regular New Year markets, this New Year Market has handcraft classes and cooking classes. Additionally, the market combines the features of creative cultural market and traditional market and invites local creative stands to station in the market. The public is welcomed to visit Zhongzheng Market and get prepared for the Chinese New Year.
Director Wu pointed out that chefs from famous hotels and restaurants (Dian Shui Lou, Xin Shi Yao, Feng Cai Yan Hui Guan, Fish Pond Restaurant, The Carlton, and Hotel Royal) are invited to host cooking classes in the New Year market.
Director Wu stated that the cooking classes were loved by the public. The registration quotas were full shortly after the registration was available on Jan. 29.
