Tzu Chi End of The Year Thanksgiving Ceremony; Mayor Lin Chih-chien and Master Cheng Yen Light up Candles and Pray Together.

Tzu Chi Foundation hosted 2017 End of The Year Thanksgiving Ceremony on Jan. 27. Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien participated in Buddhism sermon and prayed with Master Cheng Yen. Tzu Chi Master Cheng Yen also gave out "Fu Hui Red Envelope" as a blessing to all followers and wished that people will be their better selves and no calamity in society in the coming year. Mayor Lin stated his approval and respect to Tzu Chi Foundation for what they did for social welfare.
 
Mayor Lin pointed out that Tzu Chi Foundation has been carrying out the belief of "When others are hurt, I ache. When others suffer, I grieve" and spared no effort to help out people to overcome their difficulties around the world. He paid his highest respect to Tzu Chi volunteers across the world who offered comfort and help to people in need.
 
The director of Hsinchu City Government Department of Civil Affairs Chang Li-ke stated that Tzu Chi Foundation has been assisting disaster reliefs and humanitarian cares internationally. The purpose of this thanksgiving ceremony was to farewell 2017 with thankfulness and welcome the coming year with happiness.
