The "Invisible Embrace – Family Film Festival" Plays 25 Classic Films around the World in Image Museum of Hsinchu City

The January film festival "Invisible Embrace – Family Film Festival" begins from Jan. 17 to Jan. 31. Over 20 family-related films will be played in Image Museum of Hsinchu City (IMHC). The films include "ILO ILO (Golden Horse Awarded film)," "The Son's Room (awarded film in Cannes Film Festival)," "Wawa No Cidal," "Embrace Your Shadow," "The Station Agent," etc. Additionally, the documentary film screening of "Way Out: D-Fight" will be hold on Jan. 28, 2:00 PM, and the screening will invite the film director to participate in the after-screening discussion. The public is welcomed to join the event.

Hsinchu City Mayor states that IMHC holds classic film festival every month. Major events such as children film festival are held during summer time. The public is able to enjoy the classic films around the world.

Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau (HCCAB) states that 25 family-related films will be played in the January film festival. The festival includes France, America, Canada, Czech Republic, Japan, England, Iran, Italy, Taiwan films, etc. The director of "ILO ILO" shows how the parents neglect their child's annoyance due to their work pressure through the relationship between the child and their foreign domestic helper. "Our Little Sister" displays how sisters support each other in daily life. "The Son's Room" describes how a father overcomes the pain of losing his son. Film lovers are welcomed to join the event.

HCCAB points out that apart from the January film festival, HCCAB will hold the "Way Out: D-Fight" screening on Jan. 28. "Way Out: D-Fight" is a documentary film that records the only baseball team in Taiwan which is composed by people with disabilities. The film was recorded by the baseball team leader Pan Weijie, and it qualified the 39th Golden Harvest Awards for Outstanding Short Films. The director and the baseball team members will participate in the after-screening discussion to share their experiences of overcoming the disabilities on Jan. 28.
