Hsinchu City Government hosted the New Foster Family Certification Ceremony. Hsinchu City and County are sharing foster family resources and have a total of 54 foster families with 4 newly authorized families joined this year. Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien especially thanked the foster families for their selfless dedication on building new (heart) families for the children.
Hsinchu City Government Department of Social Affairs (HCGDSA) stated that there were originally 53 foster families and 100 foster parents in Hsinchu City and County area. However, 3 of the foster families withdrew due to their career planning and 4 new families joined social welfare this year (2018); and now there are total of 54 foster families in Hsinchu area. Hsinchu City has 32 individual cases of child and youth under protection with the youngest age of 1 year old, and the oldest of 15 years old, who are being settled in foster families.
Mayor Lin affirmed the action of Hsinchu Children and Families Center for recruiting foster families to take care of needed children. He also appreciated the foster families for giving the children homes that provide warmth and protection.
HCGDSA reminds the public that there are still children who need to be protected and settled. Hsinchu area still need more foster families. HCGDSA sincerely invites the public who is warm hearted and has a stable life to join the foster family ranks.
