Hsinchu City is facing the first phase of water rationing due to low reservoir levels. Water pressure will be reduced between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM during the first phase of water rationing. Ministry of Economic Affairs Drought Emergency Operate Task Force states that the short-term goal is to ensure that water supply will be stable before the Chinese New Year. The broad goal is to avoid the third phase of water rationing in all districts before April, 2018.

The report of each reservoir on Jan. 8, 2018 shows that Baoshan Reservoir stores 415.5 million tons (77.23%), and Baoshan Second Reservoir stores 1524.98 million tons (48.46%).
For the public who needs reclaimed water for washing purpose and watering plants, please prepare and bring a container to the water recycling center. After registering in the security office at the front door, the public can fill the container at the water tank on the south side of the center.
