Hakka Festival "Hakka Delicacy Award" Debuts on November 11; Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien states: Building a Base for Hakka Culture

"2017 Hsinchu Hakka Festival" has entering the second week since Nov. 4. Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien states there will be wonderful shows on every weekend and the festival will last until Nov. 25; all public are invited to experience the charm and the grace of Hakka culture.
 
Mayor Lin also states that 30% of the Hsinchu City population is Hakka people (130 thousands). The city government established Hakka Affairs Section on 2015 to manage Hakka related issues, and planned to create a local Hakka cultural promoting center that connected with the nearby scenes by building Guandong Hakka theme market and Hakka library. Energizing Hakka Hall to conduct more Hakka related events; so the next generation can be more familiar with the Hakka culture.
 
As the economic and cultural center of the Tao Chu Chu Miao area (Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City, County, and Miaoli County), Hsinchu City has collaborated with Tao Chu Miao governments to produce and broadcast a new TV show "Tai 3 Ai Wan Ke" to introduce the Hakka culture, along with all the interesting spots in Hsinchu City.
 
Hsinchu Cultural Affairs Bureau states, Hsinchu City Symphonic Orchestra will bring "2017 Hakka Village Affection - Green Mountain Clear Wind and Water is so Shinny - Creative Music Promoting Concert" to Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau Auditorium on Nov. 19; Competitions that highly welcomed by local Hakka people - "National Hakka Songs Competition" and "Hsinchu City Elementary Hakka Nursery rhymes Competition" will be held on Nov. 18, 19, and 25 at the Hsinchu City Government Auditorium and the Palace in front of Jhulian Temple. The public is welcome to join the festival.
 
The last show will be held on Nov. 25 at 13:30 in Beida Park. "Local Hakka Mixed-Art Show" will warm up the stage; following by traditional songs and folk-arts performed by other local Hakka communities. Mei-Chiang Folk Dance Troupe will perform the marvelous "A San Ge Da Shen Pou Dance Up the Wind City."
 
Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs states the festival launches a point collection event in order to encourage the public to participate; the public can exchange gifts and enter the draw with 2 stamps collected. Prizes for the draw include IPad, Bicycle, and Polaroid. The grand prize will be drawn on Nov. 25. Additionally, the public can also exchange exquisite gift by taking pictures with specific properties provided, check-in on Facebook, and like the Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau or Hsinchu City Hakka Council Facebook fan page. Gift quantities are limited.
