In order to welcome the Chinese New Year, Hsinchu City Zhu Xi Han Mo Association (ZXHMA) holds the Zhu Xi Member Exhibition at Hsinchu City Hakka Center. 50 outstanding calligraphies will be displayed in the exhibition. The opening ceremony was held in the morning of Feb. 8.
Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that ZXHMA was founded in 1999 by Wang Renjie and over 30 calligraphy lovers. The association had been holding exhibitions multiple times and publishing calligraphy collections in past 20 years. Many calligraphy masters were invited to teach the members of the association. The scripts of the calligraphies in the exhibition include seal, clerical, regular, semi-cursive, and cursive scripts.
Board Director of ZXHMA Chen Zhiquan stated that calligraphy is a literature art that also inherited the history and culture of Chinese characters. Calligraphers can use poems and articles as medium to express their moods and thoughts. The exhibition uses "He Wu Hong Fei (dancing crane spreads its wings)" as its theme, and the idea of the theme came from the names of the founder and two former board directors of ZXHMA.
"He Wu Hong Fei – 2018 Zhu Xi Han Mo Association Member Calligraphy Exhibition" is taking place at Hsinchu City Hakka Center from Feb. 8 to Mar. 18. The public is welcomed to join the exhibition. The Hakka Center is closed on Monday. The address is 4th Floor, No.1-1, Lane 23, Guandong Road, East District, Hsinchu City, and the contact number is 03-6661890.
