Hsinchu City Dongda Park infrastructure will be upgraded soon! "Dongda Aviation Park Installation Design Construction" began today (28), Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated, elements of aviation will be added to the Dongda Park (located nearby the Black Bats Squadron Memorial Hall), creating a park with both the meaning of history and concept of beauty, also connecting "Hsinchu Forest" from Jingguo Greenway to the Central Park, while providing a nice recreational area for the public.

Mayor Lin stated, "Dongda Aviation Park" is not only a must go place for tourists, but also a highly used recreational area for local residents. In the future, the park will combine aviation image design to setup 7 installation artworks, including "Entrance Image", "Flying Note", "Star Course", "Wing of Dream", "Aviation Square", "Hearing Dream", and "New Moon Chair", using hollow frame to create image of shadow and sunlight. With a budget of $8.13 million, the construction is estimated to complete in September.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated, "Dongda Avaiation Park" used to be the Black Bats Squadron Camp since 1953; because of the uniqueness of the air force's secret missions, the bureau fully supports the "Dongda Aviation Park", hoping the concept of aviation to fuse with the park, allowing the public to "talk" naturally with the history of the City.

During the construction beginning ceremony, 6 former members (more than 450 year-old altogether) of the Black Bats attended to witness the upgrades of the park; many City Councilors and neighborhood chiefs also attended the ceremony to show their support.
