Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien invited the zoo girl from Japan - Yumi, the Indonesian cook – Yanli, and the Korea-America mix – David to share the table and enjoy wailu (reunion dinner) together in Dongmen Market. Mayor Lin stated that foreign residents came to Hsinchu City for various purposes such as work, academic study, or traveling, and later started to like this city and decided to make this place home.

Yanli, the owner of "Yanli Pondok Sunny" Southeast Asian cuisine who has Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia family backgrounds, was married to Taiwan 30 years ago. She started her restaurant business which offered Indonesian, Singapore, and Malaysia cuisines from 2015 and received amazing reviews online. Mayor Lin even recommended her restaurant in his book "Mayor Lin Takes You to Gourmet Hunting." Mrs. Yanli shared her different wailu tradition back in her home country and also brought Indonesian dessert "melaleuca cake" to be shared on the table.

Yumi from Japan is the first foreign employee in Hsinchu City Zoo in the past 80 years. She has only been to Taiwan for 10 months. She has a splendid resume as a zoo employee. She had her zoology internship in Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. Yumi was deeply inspired by the enthusiasm Mayor Lin and Hsinchu City Government team had showed as they worked really hard to have Hsinchu Zoo Revival Project proceed smoothly; she hand wrote her cover letter and send it along with her resume to Mayor Lin to express her will of being part of the Hsinchu Zoo Revival Project.

David Hammer owns a Nordic café around the City Moat River and the green trails. The cafés offer fresh brew coffee and creative vegetarian cuisines. David Hammer came to Taiwan with his father when he was 5 years old. His cafés were established in 2015 and later were invited by Hsinchu City Government to participate in a gourmet hunting event.

The footage of the wailu was published on Feb. 14, 20:00 on Mayor Lin’s Facebook https://www.facebook.com/taiwango0527/. There were also riddle solving in the show; the public is welcomed to take a look!
