In order to celebrate the beginning of 2018, Hsinchu City Government will hold the flag raising ceremony at Hsinchu City Hall Plaza at 7:30 AM on Jan. 1. There will be shows performed by 5 Mirage 2000 and the honor guard of National Hsinchu Girl's Senior High School after the ceremony. Additionally, the City Government will hold the New Year's Market beside the City Hall, and 16 famous local breakfast shops will be stationed in the market. Hsinchu City Mayor Lin Chih-chien invites the public to celebrate the New Year together and wishes everyone a happy 2018.
Mayor Lin states that the "2018 New Year's Celebration" contains the events of flag raising ceremony, New Year's Market, Musical Feast, and the demonstration from 5 Mirage 2000 (flying over the City Hall). For people who are not able to attend the New Year's Celebration on Jan. 1, they can still capture the images of Mirage 2000 during the maneuver at 8:30 AM on both Dec. 28 and Dec. 30.
The New Year's Market starts at 7:30 AM. There will be 25 kinds of delicacies prepared by 16 famous local breakfast shops in the market. The delicacies include gua bao, wheel pie, cheese cake, red bean tangyuan, etc. Furthermore, the public has a chance to receive a new year's gift (with limited amount) by taking pictures and check in at the targeting place.
The Musical Feast will be performed by Dong Yuan Elementary School Orchestra, Jian Hua Junior High School Wind Band, CSPOTW, and Singer-songwriter Cliff. The City Government invites the public to attend the New Year's Flag Raising Ceremony and enjoy the delicacies and shows in the morning of Jan. 1.
