Hsinchu City Air Base will be officially opened to the public on Nov. 25. Hsinchu residents (household registration in Hsinchu City) are able to enter the air base earlier and visit the maneuver on Nov. 21 and Nov. 23. Over 10,000 residents went to the air base to enjoy the demonstration of Dassault Mirage 2000, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the thunder tiger aerobatics last morning (Nov. 21). The City Government estimated that there were about 30,000 residents visited the air base yesterday.

The major part of the maneuver was Dassault Mirage 2000 demonstration that showed various aerobatic techniques such as stall turn, low altitude flying, roll, and Cuban Eight. The public was impressed by the 15-minute demonstration.

Hsinchu City Government Department of Civil Affairs states that Hsinchu City residents are able to enter the air base with their photo IDs (ROC ID card, driver's licenses, or health ID card) on early entry days. The event is biannually. Department of Civil Affairs encourages the residents to take advantage of the early entry opportunity; visiting the air base and cheering for the national armed force tomorrow (Nov. 23).

Department of Civil Affairs states that in order to ease the traffic jam efficiently on Nov. 25, Hsinchu City Government Department of Transportation and Hsinchu City Police Bureau plan to set up 6 major parking lots that provide 9,000 vehicle parking spaces and 10,000 scooter parking spaces. The public can utilize the 8 shuttle bus routes and 256 shuttle bus shifts after parking. The shuttle bus has added 100 shifts this year compared to 2015. The traffic control will be distinguished by outer-control and inner-control, so the local residents will not be affected.
